Dining: Aurora Restaurant with British and intercontinental cuisine

Weddings: Landscaped garden licensed for ceremonies

Events: Three function rooms for up to 100 guests

Family-Friendly: Children's menus and family rooms

“What stands out is the venue's ability to host everything from garden weddings to baby showers, backed by over 30 years of event-hosting experience. The dated decor didn't detract from the comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms, while free parking and proximity to the train station add practical value. Despite some inconsistencies, it's a reasonable option for those prioritizing location and event facilities.”

Guests appreciate the King Charles Hotel for its convenient location near the Royal Engineers Museum and historic dockyard. Many find the rooms spacious and comfortable, especially the family rooms which feature a separate children's area; the inclusion of breakfast is a definite plus, along with the well-priced bar food. While some guests have noted that the exterior and car park appear a little tired, the outdoor areas with the fish are often mentioned as a lovely place to relax. Overall, many guests consider it good value for money.

Breakfast included various options. There was good seating available in the general areas and a lift to access floors. The bed in my room was a great size.
The plug socket in my room was broken. I cut my finger on it when I went to reception to report it. The staff member didn't offer first aid or even a plaster.
